The ONxpress consortium, through its railway Electro-Mechanical Systems lead, Alstom, will upgrade all parts of the network, bring in the first electrified parts of the network, introduce new signaling – the first use of European Train Control System in North America, upgrade interlocking and train supervision with smart mobility solutions, bringing 15-minute service to area residents. Newer, more sophisticated train protection systems will be deployed on the wayside and on the existing rolling stock and new electrical locomotives to increase safety of GO train service. All this will be done using proven technology in service throughout much of Europe in similar electrification environments.
This approach optimizes project execution and transport system performance through full digitalization of the project process with in-house expertise and local project management on the customer site.
Drawing on its world-class expertise in integrated rail systems and over 50 years of experience in turnkey projects, Alstom offers tailored solutions that meet every mobility need.
